πŸš€ Empowering the Next Generation of Engineers! πŸŒ
As the world transitions from traditional fossil fuels to zero-emission vehicles, we are witnessing a revolutionary shift that will shape the future of transportation. The ARCC team is leading the charge in this exciting transformation, offering students at Corrimal High School a hands-on opportunity to explore the world of hydrogen-powered innovation.

This industry opportunity linked perfectly to their Horizon Educational & H2GP Foundation journey. Students visited ARCC’s state-of-the-art factory, where hydrogen buses – the big brother of their remote-controlled hydrogen cars – are built and manufactured. It was an inspiring day filled with real-world engineering and new possibilities!

πŸ”§ Mechanical Engineering Station: Students explored the workings of a CNC router and sheet metal bending brake, gaining insight into the design and production of essential components like the PCB enclosure. They also learned about the key considerations that drive design decisions in the engineering process.

⚑ Electrical Engineering Station: Divided into two groups, students got hands-on with cutting-edge technology:
Group 1 explored Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and the importance of controlling fans through software programming.
Group 2 tackled crimping connectors and plugged them into PCB headers, understanding the fundamentals of circuitry and design to create continuity testers for the classroom.

πŸ§‘β€πŸ”¬ Science Presentation: A deep dive into the mechanics of fuel cells and the key differences between hydrogen-powered and diesel vehicles helped students appreciate the immense potential of zero-emission vehicles. The Kahoot quiz wrapped up the session, testing their newfound knowledge.

A huge shoutout to the ARCC engineering team, led by Samuel Yeo & Peter Murley, for their dedication and expertise in shaping the minds of tomorrow’s engineers. Through activities like these, we are inspiring the next generation to embrace innovation, sustainability, and a decarbonised future. 🌱

Another great collaboration connecting classrooms to industry with our local RIEP Officer Neil Bessant & the Illawarra Academy of STEM Excellence.
